Spanish Wine Dinner with Basi

Join us for this special evening of Spanish food and wine. Local wine expert Basilio Rodriguez will share some delicious wines from his Spanish/Portuguese portfolio and we will pair the 5-course dinner to match.  

Basilio Rodriguez Grueso, or “Basi” as he is called, was born in Oviedo, on the north coast of Spain in the great wine country of La Mancha. He is a Spanish Wine Region Specialist having studied for a year at Alicante University and he is the founder of Casa Ventura Importers where he has developed a selection of wines that the Seattle Times has written up as offering “both value and exceptional flavor at every price point.”

Basi comes from a family that appreciates good wine and good food. His father was a professional chef; his mother a talented traditional cook. His everyday life in the village of El Bonillo included artisanal breads, Manchego cheese, local wines, olive oils, saffron and more. Casa Ventura, named for the farmhouse his family has owned since the mid-1600s, capitalizes on all that experience. We look forward to hosting him and sharing his wines with you!
